Finding books by Horatio Alger, Jr. on the Web

The following sites have numerous used and rare books for sale in their databases. Note that book dealers frequently use more than one web listing service, so you may find the same book from the same dealer on multiple sites. Also, be aware that because it is often difficult to identify Alger first editions without a specialized reference book, it is not uncommon for common reprints to be misidentified as first editions.

Advanced Book Exchange (ABE) ABE has one of the Internet's largest inventories of old, used, and rare books for sale. There are about 10,000 book dealers listed, offering about 45 million books.

Alibris Another very large inventory. You deal with Alibris, not the individual book dealers. Over 35 million books listed.

Biblio Recent to the web and growing fast. Over 5 million books and 900 dealers.

Bibliofind The used and rare book service from Amazon.com.

eBay This well known auction site has many Alger titles daily. Almost all Alger books listed as first editions are actually reprints.

TomFolio A cooperative site owned and operated by booksellers.
